Udit is the Energy Advisor in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the UK Government, based in New Delhi. He co-ordinates the work between the UK and Indian governments on reforms in the Indian power sector and enhanced energy access. He is the Acting National Focal Point of the UK for the International Solar Alliance, co-ordinating the UK’s overall engagement with the ISA. He is a member of the India-UK Joint Working Groups on Power, Renewable Energy and Climate – that shape the overall government to government collaboration on energy and climate issues between the two countries.
Over a career spanning almost two decades, Udit has policy and implementation experience on solar energy, energy efficiency, rural energy access, climate change adaptation, green finance and wider environmental initiatives. By training, he holds a Masters’ in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
